I'm so excited to let you know that my latest collection for the wonderful Dashwood Studio 'Jardin anglais' has started to arrive in all the loveliest fabric shops and online stores around the world!
This collection has a very special place in my heart. It is inspired by drawings made in my parents' beautiful garden, lovingly developed into patterns using a subtle French-influenced colour palette. I love the flow and vintage-modern 'Liberty' feel that designs like 'Narcisses' and 'Dance d'Agapanthe' incorporate
I'm so excited to see how these fabrics will be used - besides making beautiful quilts I think they would work wonderfully for garments, accessories and home décor (the quality of the fabric is so soft).
Not all of the designs in this collection are florals, there are also some more abstract designs, such as 'Dew Drops on Grass' and 'Snail Trail' - it just goes to show that inspiration can come from anywhere!
And finally 'Soaring Birds' (that first made an appearance in navy blue as part of my 'Altitude' collection for Dashwood Studio) is back by popular demand, recoloured in soft grey to compliment the other fabrics in the collection. I'll be making a pretty top using this fabric for sure.
Which is your favourite?
I'd love to see what everyone makes with these - I've included the hashtag #jardinanglaisfabric on the selvage so you can tag your makes on social media for everyone to find. Happy sewing!
