it must be almost every surface pattern designers' dream to have a fabric collection, and it was my love of modern quilting fabrics that set me on my path as a surface pattern designer. So you can imagine that I am ecstatic that my first fabric collection is going to be with the amazing Dashwood Studio!
I really love this collection. The original sketches and inspiration came from a holiday in the French Alps early last summer. Every afternoon there were huge thunderstorms, and I used the time to make a visual record of the landscapes and flowers that we'd seen during our daytime walks through the meadows and up to the icy peaks
anyone who knows me know that I can't resist making floral patterns, and the vast array of wildflowers fighting for space in the meadows was truly a sight to behold. So many of the plants in our gardens have been cultivated from these wild cousins and it is incredible to think that they thrive in such extreme conditions
I'll be posting more pictures of the fabric when I receive some samples - I have so many ideas about what I'll be making with my stash of #altitudefabric. And I think I'm even more excited to see what many of the talented sewers and seamstresses are inspired to make with it!
